Principal’s Message
Welcome to St Michael’s Catholic Primary School Manilla, the best little school in town.
Choosing the right education for your child is one of the most important decisions you will ever make. As parents, carers or grandparents, you have a choice and the right to offer your child the best education available.
St Michael’s is a very strong community of students, parents, staff, parishioners and friends, working together to achieve the best possible educational outcomes for all our students. There is a wonderful sense of belonging that permeates the school, creating a family-like atmosphere where everyone is welcome and everyone is valued. We pledge to offer our students quality, authentic and holistic education in our nurturing learning environment.
While valuing the community within the school, St Michael’s also values the wider community and we work to forge mutually advantageous relationships within it. St Michael’s actively participates in community events and celebrations, as well as providing outreach to the residents of Manellae Lodge. Our students display servant leadership by supporting St Vincent dePaul through the work of our Mini Vinnies group within the school. Our students are environmental champions, proactively caring for our world through recycling, composting and gardening. Community members, including Manilla Preschool and Manilla Long Day Care, are always welcome at Liturgies, Masses, Assemblies and other special events.
At St Michael’s our committed staff strive to nurture the development of students and assist them to reach their full potential. Every member of staff knows each student, creating a tremendous feeling of belonging within the school. St Michael’s students feel loved and accepted and take great pride in their school. This is evidenced in the wonderful way our children wear their uniform and the collegial and cooperative way in which they interact with each other, Kindergarten through to Year 6.
I look forward to meeting with you at St Michael’s to discuss your child’s education and to accompany you on a tour of our facilities and learning spaces.
