Principal’s Message

On behalf of our wonderful school community, I warmly welcome you to St Michael’s Catholic School, Manilla, a co-educational K-6 Primary School in the beautiful town of Manilla, nestled at the junction of the Manilla and Namoi Rivers on the land of the Kamilaroi people.

At St Michael’s, we provide a comprehensive, quality Catholic education, ensuring high levels of learning for all students, guided by evidence-based pedagogy. We focus on developing successful lifelong learners, ensuring student belonging, engagement and connectedness while promoting a welcoming and family friendly environment. We encourage active participation in school life and focus on building strong community partnerships.

We are a small K-6 school with six classrooms. Staff members are highly qualified and caring. We are committed to supporting all students to be successful and confident learners, providing a comprehensive and inclusive curriculum commencing in our transition class, prior to commencing Kindergarten. This strong foundation allows continued growth and learning progression for all students throughout their primary years. Our classrooms are alive with skilled helpful adults, realising literate and numerate students for a hope filled future, well beyond their years at St Michael’s.

At St Michael’s, we assist our students to develop and maintain a strong sense of wellbeing and resilience. Our Living Well Learning Well Framework ‘Rules for Living’ focus on students feeling safe, valued, cared for and highly regarded as learners and contributing to others feeling the same. Student leadership focuses on building a welcoming and safe school, providing opportunities for every student to let their light shine.
